A workshop designed by runners for runners.
Big running goals ahead this year? Worried about old injuries recurring and holding you back?
Or are you new to running and looking to build a solid foundation to set you up for success?
We have a workshop designed just for you.
For many Vancouver-ites the new year means setting big running goals, including longer distances such as the marathon and half-marathon.
As physiotherapists, we are in the position of seeing many of the runners who experience injuries along the way that either impede their training or derail their running goal completely.
To help you succeed, our team has designed a workshop exploring the common pitfalls runners experience while training for longer distance races and strategies to prevent them.
Physiotherapists Florence Charbonneau-Dufresne and Katrina Sovio, both of whom have completed post-graduate training specific to working with running injuries, worked through numerous injuries themselves on the way to the start line, and treated hundreds of runners over their years of practice.
The clinic will include:
- Strengthening for Runners: We know you don’t have much time and just want to run….so what is really necessary?
- Running technique: What does the latest research say about form and injury prevention and what are some ways to work with assessing and changing your running technique?
- Running Shoe Selection: How much does the right shoe matter?
- Q & A
Date: Thursday January 30th, 2020.
Cost: $25 registration fee *100% of proceeds will go to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre.
