Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression (more traditionally known as mechanical traction) involves an elongation of the spinal column using a specific application of force from a pulley machine. This creates a therapeutic stretching of the joints, muscles and discs of the spine.

Conditions that decompression may be helpful for are:

  • Disc herniation
  • Disc protrusion
  • Osteoarthritis of the spine
  • Sciatica
  • Low back and neck pain
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Pain, numbness of tingling in the arms or legs

Our clinic has a brand new, top of the line decompression unit. If you are interested in spinal decompression treatment, please book an assessment with one of our physiotherapists to determine whether this form of treatment would be helpful for your condition.

Spinal decompression is included as part of your regular physiotherapy treatment fee.
